What’s Next: How can we continue to improve?

I worked hard for the last two years, but there is so much more to do. That’s why I’m running for reelection. Do you have ideas about how the party can improve? Send them to me!

  1. Organizing volunteers. I get emails all the time from people who want to help the party and I don’t have anything to give them to do. I typically try to introduce them to their county GOP chair, which I want to continue to do, but the state party should be way more organized. We’re not set up to leverage the talents and time of these dedicated patriots, and we should be.

  2. Attracting young people. The Utah College Republicans and Utah Young Republicans boomed over the last two years. I’m a Young Republican myself and I want to mentor these groups to help them continue to grow, which could also include volunteer opportunities (see item 1).

  3. Specific information and training for delegates and SCC members. The party’s website is public, which means we can’t put up some of the more helpful “insider” information we’d like to. I plan to create a logged in (“authenticated” in tech speak) section of the website where we can put more specific information for state delegates and SCC members that we wouldn’t want our opponents to have.

  4. Red state, blue dot research. Western states have a particular and unique problem: for the most part, they tend to be red states that are outvoted by huge, blue, urban areas. Utah is the last bulwark against this wave. What can we learn about how Colorado, Oregon, Washington and New Mexico went blue or from Nevada, Arizona, and Montana that have teetered back and forth?

Do you have ideas for how the party can improve? Tell me about them.
